The organisation ECOMOVE International (located in Freiburg, Germany) is based on the cooperation of various international enviromental film festivals. ECOMOVE's primary purpose is to promote the environmental media - in particular the audio-visual media - as an important tool for getting the environmental message across to the general public worldwide and improve its image and appreciation by increasing quality and quantity of environmental media productions.
In order to reach this objective, ECOMOVE International organises and supports environmental media events of global scale such as the festival of environmental film festivals ECOMOVE 2001 and 2003 in Berlin, the JOZI SUMMIT FILM FESTIVAL in Johannesburg 2002, as well as a film festival 2005 in Tokio in the framework of the EXPO. Moreover, it realises educational and media projects on a national and international level. ECOMOVE continues the work of the Ökomedia Institute which was forced to end its activities in 2005 and builds upon its broad experience.
