My New Home

As part of this integration project, an app has been developed that functions as a location-based mobile game. Local teenagers and young refugees can use this app together to guide them on a tour of their local area. Participants are asked to form small mixed groups made up of refugees and locals, and work together to solve puzzles and complete tasks. These tasks are designed to help the young people who have recently arrived in the area to get to know their new social environment both geographically and culturally.

With this free app, the aim was to provide an educational resource for recreational time that can be integrated into local structures. The hope was that this will allow adolescent refugees to have fun getting to know their new home, while also interacting with local children and young people. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for local people to learn more about the cultural backgrounds of refugees.

The project is supported by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, and is implemented by ECOMOVE in collaboration with the respective local partners.

The project was concluded in 2021.
